K. Morley Conservation and Bookbinding, founded by conservator Katie in 2024, offers specialist conservation and bookbinding services with a focus on preservation, craftsmanship, and education.
The business was established to:
Embrace a working life that allows for both flexibility and creativity;
Share a deep passion for traditional hand bookbinding and the appreciation of books as beautiful, tactile objects;
Educate individuals on the care and preservation of their personal collections, drawing on over 15 years of experience in the conservation of archives and historic materials.
Katie holds an MA in Conservation (Books and Archival Materials) from Camberwell College of Arts.
Her professional background includes work with respected institutions such as the West Yorkshire Archive Service, Historic Royal Palaces, and the Victoria & Albert Museum.
She has interest and experience in wet disaster recovery and remains committed to preserving cultural heritage through thoughtful, ethical conservation practices.
